Lee Greenwood founded IYVS out of lived experience — years spent working with young people, first through Scouting and later through direct coaching, taught him where mainstream youth volunteering consistently fails neurodivergent young people, and what actually works instead. That experience shaped IYVS's four-pillar model: direct provision through programmes like Zanshin Archery and Greenwood Bushcraft, capability building for volunteers and organisations, navigation support, and sector accountability.
Lee is an accredited Archery GB instructor, leads Zanshin Archery directly, runs Greenwood Bushcraft, and founded Own Pace Outfitters to deliver Duke of Edinburgh's Award expeditions — three trading arms of IYVS that put the organisation's mission into practice. He also coordinates Havant's Open DofE Centre. IYVS exists because he was unwilling to keep patching a system that wasn't built for the young people he was working with.
