We’re delighted to announce that Independent Youth Volunteer Support (IYVS) has been officially recognised as a Community Interest Company (CIC) by Companies House.
Our registration is now complete, and we are proud to operate under company number 16629816.
What is a CIC?
A Community Interest Company is a special type of limited company designed for social enterprises that want to use their profits and assets for the public good. CICs are subject to an “asset lock”, ensuring that the company’s assets are used for the benefit of the community it serves.
What This Means for IYVS
This formal recognition marks an important milestone in our journey. As a registered CIC, we can now:
- Operate with the credibility and governance structure that comes with official recognition
- Provide transparency and accountability to our stakeholders
- Build partnerships with other organisations who support youth volunteers
- Access funding and grants available to registered social enterprises
Looking Ahead
This is just the beginning. With our CIC status confirmed, we’re now focused on building the programmes and resources that will make a real difference for youth volunteers across the UK.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us in reaching this milestone. We’re excited about what comes next.
Onwards and upwards.
