1. Statement of Commitment
Independent Youth Volunteer Support CIC ("IYVS") is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults involved in our programmes. We believe that everyone has the right to live free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, trustees, and contractors associated with IYVS.
3. Responsibilities
- All individuals working with IYVS are responsible for safeguarding.
- The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) oversees safeguarding practices and responds to concerns.
4. Code of Conduct
All representatives must:
- Treat everyone with respect and dignity
- Never engage in inappropriate physical or verbal behaviour
- Avoid one-to-one situations in private spaces
- Report concerns immediately
5. Reporting Concerns
If you are worried about a child or vulnerable person, report it to the DSL at safeguarding@iyvs.org.uk. In an emergency, contact local authorities or emergency services.
6. Policy Review
This policy is reviewed annually or after significant safeguarding incidents.
